iAi Bloggers' Book of the Month: 'GRAY VENGEANCE' by Alan McDermott

From the iAi website:

Gray Vengeance, the fifth book in Alan McDermott’s best-selling Tom Gray series, launches May 26th, 2015 to great anticipation and acclaim.

What’s it about?

An African militia has a new leader—and Tom Gray has a deadly new problem.

Da Sunan Annabi has a ruthless new leader whose aim is to train British nationals to bring England to its knees.
As their plans unfold with deadly precision and Britain is crippled by a series of attacks, the government is forced to deploy its new secret weapon: a surveillance network that can spy on nearly every human being on earth. It is nearly foolproof—but is it ethical? And does that even matter now?

Soon, Tom Gray and his daughter are in the militia’s sights, and their lives depend on Gray finding the man behind the recent atrocities. His desperate search leads him to Africa and Cuba, for a final showdown with an enemy he could never have imagined.

About the Tom Gray series

The series began with Gray Justice, the story of how ex-soldier Tom Gray sets off to change the British justice system when the career criminal responsible for the death of Gray’s family gets off time served on remand. Engaging the help of his ex-SAS buddies, he kidnaps five repeat offenders and asks the public to vote on their fate: Should they be allowed to continue their criminal ways with inadequate punishment, or has Britain had enough? His website attracts a worldwide audience and, although the authorities know where he is, they are powerless to stop him. But someone else sees an opportunity to attack the UK when the authorities are focused on Gray.

The series continues around the world as trouble keeps finding Gray.
  • Gray Resurrection—Gray is recruited in a dubious, dangerous assignment in the Philippines
  • Gray Redemption—takes Gray around the world to Africa, where he begins to clear his name and meets an old nemesis
  • Gray Retribution—Gray has to rescue his new wife and daughter in the UK and his oldest friends in an African war zone—at the same time.

iAi Bloggers' Book of the Month: 'TAKE NO MORE' by Seb Kirby

A few words about this month's featured book 'TAKE NO MORE' by Seb Kirby:

An artistic voyage in crime – thrilling and original
When James Blake discovers his wife murdered in their London home, he is determined to find her killer. As the prime suspect, he flees England and sets out on a journey that takes him to Florence and Venice and into a dark underworld of corruption, a trail that will lead him to the killer – and the shocking truth behind the mystery.

★★★★★ ‘Wow! This is action-packed from page one, and the reader is instantly thrust into murder, suspense, and intrigue…… I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great crime thriller! And fans of Harlan Coben and Simon Kernick will love it!’ – (Author Sibel Hodge, amazon.com)

About Seb:

I am the author of the James Blake Thriller series (TAKE NO MORE, REGRET NO MORE and, now, FORGIVE NO MORE) and the Raymond Bridges sci fi thriller series (DOUBLE BIND).
I’ve been an avid reader from an early age – my grandfather ran a mobile lending library in Birmingham and when it closed my parents inherited many of the books. From the first moment I was hooked. Now, as a full-time writer myself, it’s my goal to add to the magic of the wonderful words and stories I discovered back then.

Bookmarks and Autographs

Sending out bookmarks and autograph labels to Gio, a young reader who's been enjoying the paperback editions of Dragonfriend and Giantkiller. Some very thoughtful grownups in his life made the request and I'm happy to oblige.

If you'd like your own "kit," send me a photo of you and/or your reader holding the book(s) and I'll send you one, too!

Keyboard for Hire

The writing for season four of Littlest Pet Shop finished up recently so I'm looking for work (that's me in freelance-ready pose #12 with optional pipe attachment).

Please keep this scribe/actor in mind when you're staffing your new show, looking for freelance freshness on your existing one, casting a role, or a combination of any of those. Thank you!

iAi Bloggers' Book of the Month: 'Rogue Goddesses' by Gary Henry

Gary Henry's newly published Rogue Goddesses (fantasy/sci fi/action adventure) is the long-awaited sequel to his 2012 release American Goddesses and I'm pleased to feature it on my blog.

About the book: Evil superwoman Melnikova seeks revenge and world-domination. Earth’s mightiest champions fall before her. Set in 2030 A.D. and 600 years beyond, Rogue Goddesses details a world in the grip of cruel women possessing omnipotent powers. Humankind’s only hope of averting this catastrophic future — one teen-aged girl desperately afraid of her own emerging powers.

“I loved this novel, it’s a lot of fun and it makes a refreshing change to read about women who are kicking ass and saving the world.” ~ E.L. Lindley, author

“Rogue Goddesses is a 15-star out of five-star read.” ~ Tammy Dewhirst, Rabid Readers Reviews
Find it on:
About the author: Gary Henry’s publications include a volume of short stories, What Happened to Jory and Other Dark Departures, and a collection of poetry, The Moon Poem and Other Strange Jingle Jangles.

He also publishes a book review blog, Honest Indie Book Reviews.

I'd Like to Read These Books on Kindle!

Amazon has a feature available on the pages of many pre-digital age books to help them make the transition to Kindle.

I've got two out-of-print children's picture books, Nonsense! He Yelled and Road Trip,  that fall neatly into this category and, not surprisingly, I would like to see them on Kindle. Why?

Out-of-Print Books --> Books Re-Released on Kindle = Renewed Income for Author and Illustrator

Yes, it's an absurd long shot to even dream about this possibility becoming a reality as it would mean a fair amount of work by my old publisher (Dial, BFYR) -- reformatting for Kindle, specifically -- but if enough people expressed interest...who knows? It might happen.

If you have two seconds to spare and wouldn't mind spending them clicking those links, I'd be beholden to ya.

The text links below will take you to each book's Amazon page. Just scroll down until you find the Tell the Publisher! bit you see above and then click away. Thanks!

Discovery Family Announces Season 4 of Littlest Pet Shop

Well the pets are finally out of the bag. Yesterday, Discovery Family announced Season 4 of Littlest Pet Shop with their 'DISCOVERY FAMILY CHANNEL LEAPS INTO 2015-16 UPFRONT SEASON' press release. For the uninitiated, an 'upfront' is a meeting where new shows/new seasons of existing shows are announced by a network so advertisers can buy commercial time early or 'upfront.'

We LPS writers have been working on Season 4 since last June (I had my final script of the season 'locked' last month) so it's nice to be able to share the news. I think the fans with be well-pleased with this new round of Pet Shop hijinx.

Here's hoping Hasbro/DF gets us started on Season 5 before this coming June!

Just In Case You Want to See Me in a Commercial

Shot this funny spot back in February. It was a blast to be working as an actor again (I'm the businessman who comes in at the end and says, "Gary?"). May they run it frequently and for a very long time!

iAi Bloggers' Book of the Month: 'Undrastormur: A Viking Tale of Troublesome Trolls' by Roger Eschbacher

Yes! My novelette, UNDRASTORMUR: A VIKING TALE OF TROUBLESOME TROLLS is this month's featured iAi bloggers' title. It's available as an eBook through Amazon for a very reasonable $0.99.

Here are the details, in case you're interested and might want to, oh, I don't know, buy and review the book? ;)

a fantasy/adventure novelette

"Eirik has a problem. A lot of problems, actually. While he was out gathering mushrooms, his small Norse village was overrun by nasty trolls with a taste for human flesh. Now Eirik, the last surviving descendant of Drengur Darkbeard, a powerful Viking galdrakarl or wizard, must undertake a perilous journey to find the missing half of Drengur's iron staff. Only then can he save his neighbors by calling down the undrastormur, a violent and powerful gift from Thor, the god of thunder."
